CONTRA COSTA COUNTY HEALTH SERVICES

Contra Costa County Alcohol & Other Drugs Services, and the Behavioral Health Division provide behavioral health services to Contra Costa County Residents. These services range from outpatient counseling, residential treatment, and medically assisted treatment. To access these services please call:

  • The Behavioral Health Access Line which provides screenings for treatment & referrals information to the general public. The Behavioral Health Access Line also provides referrals to prevention programs.

CHOOSING CHANGE CLINIC - CONTRA COSTA HEALTH SERVICES

The Choosing Change clinic provides treatment and empowers people who want to stop using opioids. Patients receive dedicated support from a compassionate and knowledgeable medical team. 

The clinic offers a holistic approach to treatment:

  • Choosing Change patients use buprenorphine (also known as Suboxone), which reduces craving and withdrawal symptoms.
  • Patients receive group therapy and medical visits from a team of doctors or nurse practitioners, nurses, mental health counselors and community health workers.
  • Patients meet one-on-one with their care team for support, counseling and connections to other recovery services.

How To Join

Choosing Change is an option for people who have been diagnosed with Opiate Use Disorder (OUD) and want to stop using.

This program is available to patients with Medi-Cal, Contra Costa Health Plan, or Medicare, including Part D. If your insurance is different, please talk to your healthcare provider about other treatment options.

Description: Provides a safe home for young people whose circumstances do not permit them to live with their families or guardians. Each of the two Level 14 group homes is equipped to care for up to six residents with emotional and behavioral disabilities, who are constantly and closely supervised by dedicated teams of Teacher-Counselors. The staff are all trained in pediatric and adult First Aid/CPR and in Professional Assault Response Training (PART), and work in close collaboration with licensed clinicians.
